37/62
The May 3, 1907 issue of The Altamont Enterprise reported the residents
of School District No. 10 (Delmar) had voted in favor of “…a new and modern
school building to replace the one which has outgrown its usefulness.” The
article also noted the $9700 cost was approved by a vote of 77 to 37 “despite
the obstructive tactics of the non-progressive minority.” Most of the residents
in the town were pleased as it was felt “a better and more hygienic school
building” was long overdue.
